How Feeling Fitness Manages Stress?

Most people seem to know that scenarios or triggers manifest very strong feeling, make them angry, jealous, happy or loving etc. We assume that is caused by the trigger. For example “the driver ahead made me angry”. To me this model seemed true because that is how it felt however, the problem with this model is that you have no way of getting control of feelings or stress because the trigger is external to you.

There is another approach which says the following …. if you are triggered in to a feeling, it is because you have too much of that feeling inside you. Think of a balloon, when it’s empty it has no stress and it is resilient to being poked and prodded or even being stretched. Alternatively, when the balloon is full, it’s stretched out and full of tension and stress, it only takes a small pin pick to make it burst.

Why is this difference important? It allows you to release your stress and become more emotionally resilient by letting go of your pent up feelings. This approach says you were triggered into outward anger because you were full of angriness and therefore it had little to do with the trigger.
